The Pilgrim (Auswalker) (XL Climbing Rose)
- Order your roses today, and they will be delivered within 3–5 working days.
Be enchanted by the timeless elegance of 'The Pilgrim,' a beautiful creation by David Austin that enriches your garden with its romantic character. This XL climbing rose opens medium-sized, soft yellow flowers subtly enhanced with a touch of apricot, a color palette reminiscent of English country gardens. The strong, classic rose fragrance envelops your outdoor space from early summer to late autumn, and its repeat-flowering nature ensures a continuous flow of beauty. Awarded the prestigious Henry Edland Medal in 1992, 'The Pilgrim' is not only a feast for the eyes but also an ecologically valuable asset that attracts bees and butterflies.
'The Pilgrim' excels as a low climbing rose, gracefully trained against a sunny wall, along a pergola, or over a fence, where its lush bloom fully comes into its own. Also as a large, bushy shrub rose in borders or as a solitary showpiece in a classic or cottage-style garden, it makes an unforgettable impression. The healthy, vigorous growth and good disease resistance make it a reliable and beloved choice for both experienced and novice gardeners. Moreover, the flowers are excellent as cut roses, allowing you to enjoy their charm indoors as well.

Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
