Reine Victoria has the charm of a classic garden rose: deeply cupped flowers, a warm lilac-pink color, and a wonderful fragrance. The full, richly petalled blooms retain their rounded shape and stand gracefully above the foliage. Her slender, upright growth makes her an elegant presence in a romantic border.

This historic Bourbon rose was introduced in 1872 by French rose breeder Joseph Schwartz. Reine Victoria is therefore a true rose from the early years of the Belle Époque. With her refined flower shape and distinctive perfume, she fits beautifully into the romantic garden experience associated with this period.

Reine Victoria also displays an important characteristic of Bourbon roses: she combines the appearance and fragrance of old roses with repeat flowering. From June onward, her flowers appear in successive waves of bloom, allowing you to enjoy her again throughout the summer.

The fragrance is powerful, with the character of old roses and a fruity note. Give her a spot near a garden path or seating area, where you can admire the flowers up close.

Plant Reine Victoria in a sunny spot with good air circulation. Her delicate petals may not open as beautifully during prolonged rain, and she can be susceptible to black spot and powdery mildew. A good location, sufficient nutrients, and watering at the base will help her grow well.
