Step into the rich history of the Mainzer Fastnacht®, a rose that has captured hearts for generations in Dutch ornamental horticulture. This large-flowered hybrid tea rose, with its unique lilac-purple hue and lush, classically shaped blooms, is a living work of art. Its exceptionally strong, nostalgic rose fragrance envelops your garden in an enchanting atmosphere even before you see the flower. The name, inspired by the lively carnival of Mainz, embodies tradition, character, and an explosion of color – exactly what this iconic rose offers.
Once the pride of millions of cut roses from Aalsmeer, it now returns as a powerful garden rose for the modern garden lover. Mainzer Fastnacht® grows vigorously and upright, making it ideal for borders, rose beds, as a solitary eye-catcher, or even in large pots on your balcony or terrace. Its repeated blooming from April well into October provides a continuous spectacle of color and fragrance. Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage the plant to produce a rich and long-lasting bloom.
At Belle Époque Rose Nursery, we proudly bring this legendary rose back to Aalsmeer, its original home. With over 40 years of family experience in rose cultivation, we guarantee you a top-quality Mainzer Fastnacht® directly from our nursery. Our expertise and sustainable cultivation methods ensure you receive a healthy, strong plant ready to enrich your garden with its unparalleled beauty and story. Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
