Description

Belle Epoque Planting Mix for Roses

Give new garden roses a strong start with Belle Epoque Planting Mix. This mix, specially formulated for roses, supports root system development and helps improve the soil around the plant.

The combination of mycorrhiza, humic acids from leonardite, seaweed meal and rock dust supports the uptake of moisture and nutrients. The mix also provides natural minerals and trace elements that contribute to healthy, living soil.

Why Belle Epoque Planting Mix?

After planting, a rose needs to develop new roots and adapt to its location. Good soil, sufficient water and direct contact between the roots and mycorrhiza are important for this.

Belle Epoque Planting Mix is applied around the roots during planting. This gives new shrub roses, floribunda roses, Climbing roses and rambler roses a good foundation for healthy development.

The benefits

  • Specially formulated for planting garden roses
  • Supports the development of new roots
  • Helps with the uptake of moisture and nutrients
  • Supports healthy and active soil life
  • Contains natural minerals and trace elements
  • Suitable for bare-root roses and potted roses
  • Carefully formulated and hand-filled
  • Made in collaboration with Ons Tweede Thuis

Made with care at Ons Tweede Thuis

Belle Epoque consciously chooses a social, small-scale approach to production. Our Planting Mix is carefully formulated and hand-filled by employees of Ons Tweede Thuis.

We do not buy our Planting Mix as a ready-made product from a large producer. By having the mix formulated ourselves, we know exactly which ingredients it contains. At the same time, we contribute to meaningful and valuable work.

As a result, every package is made with care for roses, the soil and the people who make the product.

What is in Belle Epoque Planting Mix?

5% mycorrhiza

Mycorrhiza are beneficial soil fungi that connect with the living roots of the rose. This expands the reach of the root system and enables the plant to absorb moisture and nutrients from the soil more efficiently.

For effective results, it is important that the mycorrhiza come into direct contact with the roots during planting.

15% humic acids from leonardite

Leonardite is a natural, humus-rich raw material. The humic and fulvic acids it contains support soil life and help keep nutrients available to the plant in the soil.

20% seaweed meal

Seaweed meal is a natural source of minerals and trace elements. It is a valuable addition to the soil around newly planted roses.

60% rock dust

Rock dust consists of finely ground volcanic rock. It contains various natural minerals and trace elements and contributes to mineral-rich soil.

Use and dosage

Use Belle Epoque Planting Mix once during planting.

  • Use approximately 100 grams per rose
  • 100 grams is suitable for 1 rose
  • 500 grams is suitable for approximately 5 roses

How to use the Planting Mix

  1. Dig a spacious planting hole and loosen the soil well at the bottom.
  2. Sprinkle a small portion of the Planting Mix into the planting hole.
  3. Position the rose so that the roots come into direct contact with the mix.
  4. Mix the rest of the Planting Mix into the excavated soil.
  5. Position the rose at the correct planting depth and fill the planting hole.
  6. Gently firm the soil.
  7. Water the rose generously after planting.

Do not apply the Planting Mix as one concentrated layer at the bottom of the planting hole. Distribute the mix around the roots and mix most of it thoroughly into the excavated soil.

When can I use the Planting Mix?

You can use Belle Epoque Planting Mix when planting roses, as long as the soil is not frozen or completely dried out.

The mix is suitable for:

  • Bare-root roses
  • Potted roses
  • Shrub roses
  • Floribunda roses
  • Large-flowered roses
  • Climbing roses
  • Rambler roses

Is Planting Mix the same as rose fertilizer?

No. Belle Epoque Planting Mix was developed to support root development and the soil around a newly planted rose. The mix is not a complete replacement for a balanced rose fertilizer.

Give the rose additional nutrients at the right time, depending on the planting season and the plant's needs.

Can I use the mix with established roses?

The Planting Mix was specially developed for new roses. During planting, the mycorrhiza can easily be applied directly against the roots.

For established roses, we recommend suitable spring, summer or autumn feed from Belle Epoque.

Composition

5% mycorrhiza, 15% humic acids from leonardite, 20% seaweed meal and 60% rock dust.
