The Edible Rose 'Andre Rieu' is a true symphony of color and fragrance, inspired by the expressive music of the maestro himself. Let yourself be seduced by the deep red to dark pink, semi-double flowers, which have an unmistakable presence with a diameter of about 8 cm. The intense, fresh scent – a harmonious blend of lemon, orange, and mint, rounded off with a soft musk base – is simply enchanting and scores a full 5 on fragrance intensity. And the best part? This rose is not only a delight for the eyes and nose but also a delicious addition to your culinary creations.
With its compact growth of 20-50 cm, the 'Andre Rieu' is exceptionally versatile. Whether you want to create an atmospheric border, establish a lively flower bed, beautify your balcony with a large pot, or even aspire to an edible food forest; this rose feels at home everywhere. It blooms abundantly from April to October, is healthy, requires little maintenance, and with its charming flowers also attracts bees and butterflies, contributing to biodiversity in your garden.
At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy this special edible rose directly from the grower. Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
