Duke of Cambridge at a glance
Duc de Cambridge brings the charm of a historic rose garden to your own garden. Its richly filled blooms range from intense rosy red to purplish pink. The petals form graceful, cupped flowers with a classic quartered arrangement. This is accompanied by a powerful old rose fragrance with spicy and fruity nuances.
This Damask rose is attributed to the French rose breeder Jean Laffay and was known before 1840. Its name refers to Adolphus Frederick, the Duke of Cambridge and son of the British King George III. This rose therefore carries a piece of nineteenth-century history with it.
Its historical value also lies in the character it preserves: the richly filled flower form, pronounced fragrance and single, exuberant summer flowering. With Duc de Cambridge, you keep an old rose tradition alive in your garden.
The sturdy shrub flowers in June and July and fits beautifully in a spacious border or informal rose hedge. Give it a spot in the sun or light partial shade, preferably along a garden path where you can enjoy its fragrance up close.
Forty years of nothing but roses
Belle Époque is a family business, not a wholesaler. From our greenhouses in Aalsmeer, we have been growing only roses for over four decades — and every plant we send out is personally selected by us. This way, you receive not a catalog rose, but a plant ready to grow.
"Beautiful climbing rose, bloomed abundantly in the very first year! Well packaged and exactly what I expected based on the description. Belle Époque truly delivers top quality."
"The rose is well packaged and looks beautiful. Fast delivery, and the personal advice via email was very valuable — I wasn’t sure where to plant it."
"Amazing quality & service. I ordered two New Dawns and they are developing beautifully in the garden. Fast shipping from Aalsmeer to Belgium — would absolutely order again."
