The Rose ‘Wedding Day’ is a spectacular rambler climbing rose with a romantic history. It owes its name to breeder Sir Frederick, whose wedding day on June 26 coincided with the first bloom. Since then, this rose has symbolized love, abundance, and festivity.

With its vigorous growth, this rambler can effortlessly reach heights up to 10 meters. This makes it ideal for covering pergolas, rose arches, walls, or even trees. The apricot-colored buds open into soft yellow flowers, which then fade to cream-white, star-shaped blossoms with striking orange-yellow stamens. During blooming, the garden fills with an intense, delightful fragrance – one of the strongest in our assortment.

‘Wedding Day’ is exceptionally winter hardy and very vigorous. Plant it in well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny or partially shaded location. With an annual application of rose fertilizer and light pruning after flowering, it remains healthy and blooms abundantly.

Whether you want to make a large pergola shine, transform a tree into a cloud of blossoms, or simply seek a fragrant eye-catcher, the Rose ‘Wedding Day’ turns any garden into a romantic paradise.

At Belle Epoque, you order roses directly from the nursery in Aalsmeer. This ensures strong, healthy plants that provide years of garden enjoyment and abundant flowering.

Roses in a pot

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for roots to develop. This makes the potted rose ideal for year-round planting, especially May to October.

Bare root roses

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants that are delivered without pots or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in the ground. The best time to plant a root rose is autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature is mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare root roses from November to AprilThanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and floriferous shrubs or climbing roses.

Products are shipped weekly on Mondays & Shipped directly from the nursery on Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimize our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
