Care & Plants
Plant the 'William and Catherine' rose in well-draining soil, preferably in a sunny to partially shaded spot. For potted plants, this can be done year-round; for bare-root plants, the ideal period is October to April. Ensure sufficient planting distance (about 60 cm) and plant the graft union just below the soil surface.
Prune the 'William and Catherine' rose in late winter or early spring, once the worst frost has passed. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and cut back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds. Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage the plant to produce abundant rebloom.
Water the rose regularly, especially during dry periods and when it is in a pot. Fertilize in early spring and after the first bloom with a special rose fertilizer. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
