The 'Shepherdess' (Austwist), a beautiful creation by David Austin, enchants with its medium-sized, richly filled flowers. The soft apricot color, often enhanced with a subtle pink glow, combined with deeply cupped petals, gives each flower a classic and refined appearance. Its fresh, fruity fragrance with delicate citrus notes fills the garden with a refreshing scent, inviting you time and again to admire its beauty.

This charming shrub rose grows upright and bushy, making it ideal for borders, beds, and mixed gardens. It stands out beautifully as a solitary eye-catcher in a cottage garden or as part of a romantic planting. Thanks to its excellent repeat flowering, you can enjoy the graceful charm of the 'Shepherdess' throughout the summer and autumn.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy the 'Shepherdess' directly from the grower. With over 40 years of experience, we cultivate our roses with unmatched passion and craftsmanship. Quality, expertise, and sustainable cultivation are central to us, ensuring you a healthy and floriferous addition to your garden. Choose the expertise of Belle Époque and let your garden shine.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
