The Rosa Emily Brontë® (Ausearnshaw), cultivated by David Austin in honour of the 200th anniversary of the famous author of Wuthering Heights, is a literary and botanical gem. This elegant English rose combines timeless beauty with abundant blooming and a refined scent – a perfect choice for every garden lover.
The flowers are a subtle work of art: soft apricot-pink petals open around a warm orange centre, with each layer of petals slightly larger than the previous one. This creates an enchanting rosette shape with an elegant, flat character. The fully opened flowers show a charming central button eye, which further enhances their romantic appearance.
Emily Brontë® blooms exceptionally richly and almost continuously from June well into autumn. The shrub grows upright, bushy and well-branched, yet remains compact enough to shine in smaller gardens as well. With a height of about 140 cm and a width of 130 cm, this rose is ideal for borders, beds or as a solitary eye-catcher.
The scent of Emily Brontë® is a true highlight: a refined blend of fruity apricot and floral tea, which fills every garden with a delightful, classic rose fragrance.
At Belle Epoque you order this special English rose directly from our nursery. ‘Emily Brontë®’ is a tribute to one of the greatest literary icons in English history – and a beautiful addition to your garden.

Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
