About Edible rose - Evelyn Wild

The Rosa Evelyn Wild enchants with its warm, apricot-colored flowers that emit a delightful, fruity honey-apricot fragrance. This compact shrub rose, about 60-70 cm tall, is a true ode to the senses. The graceful branches bend elegantly under the rich flower clusters, giving the plant a natural and charming appearance. But Evelyn Wild is more than just a feast for the eyes; its edible petals with a soft texture and refined flavor are perfect for pastries, salads, drinks, and chocolate creations, named after the Austrian pastry chef Eveline Wild.

With its ideal height of 60-80 cm, Evelyn Wild fits seamlessly into various garden styles. Plant it in the middle of a border, as a charming ground cover, or create a focal point in a spacious pot on your terrace or balcony. It thrives excellently in a food forest and combines beautifully with both light-colored roses and medium-sized perennials. This healthy and robust rose is highly suitable for organic cultivation and, with its continuous blooming charm, also attracts bees and butterflies, contributing to biodiversity in your garden.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy your Evelyn Wild directly from the grower. With more than 40 years of family experience and a passion for sustainable cultivation methods, we guarantee you a rose of top quality. Our expertise ensures healthy, strong plants ready to enrich your garden, balcony, or kitchen with their unique beauty and flavor. Choose the expertise of Belle Époque and enjoy this special edible rose for years to come.

Care & Plants
Plant the pot-grown Evelyn Wild all year round, as long as the ground is not frozen. Choose a sunny location with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day and well-draining soil. Dig a planting hole twice as wide as the root ball and mix the excavated soil with compost. Place the rose so that the graft union is just below the soil surface and water generously after planting.
Prune the Rosa Evelyn Wild in early spring, around March-April, when the worst frost has passed. Remove dead, diseased, or crossing branches and cut back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds above the ground for a compact and abundant bloom. During the flowering season, you can remove faded flowers to encourage new bud formation.
Water the Evelyn Wild regularly, especially during dry periods and when the rose is in a pot. Fertilize in early spring and after the first bloom with special rose fertilizer to encourage flowering and growth. A layer of compost around the base of the plant helps keep the soil moist and fertile.
