Toulouse Lautrec® – an expressive garden rose inspired by an iconic artist
Toulouse Lautrec® is a strong, characterful garden rose that owes its name to Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the famous French painter and illustrator from late 19th-century Paris. He was known for his intense use of colour, his love for city life, and his ability to capture emotion and movement. These very qualities are reflected in this special rose.
The flowers of Toulouse Lautrec® show various shades of yellow, richly filled and full of expression. They open in layers, giving each flower depth and dynamism — just like a painting full of brushstrokes. The light, fresh rose scent adds extra elegance to the flower without softening its strong appearance.
This rose blooms abundantly and repeatedly throughout the season and grows into a strong, healthy shrub with glossy dark green leaves. Toulouse Lautrec® stands out beautifully as a solitary plant but is also a strong player in borders where contrast and colour are desired.
Who was Toulouse-Lautrec?
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864–1901) was a French post-impressionist artist, famous for his posters, paintings, and drawings of Parisian nightlife. His work was known for intense use of colour, boldness, and character — qualities that perfectly suit this rose. Like the artist, Toulouse Lautrec® is outspoken, headstrong, and unforgettable.

Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
