Toulouse Lautrec® – an expressive garden rose inspired by an iconic artist
Toulouse Lautrec® is a powerful, characterful garden rose named after Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the famous French painter and illustrator from late 19th century Paris. He was known for his intense use of color, his love for city life, and his ability to capture emotion and movement. These very qualities are reflected in this special rose.
The flowers of Toulouse Lautrec® display various shades of yellow, are richly filled and full of expression. They open in layers, giving each flower depth and dynamism — just like a painting full of brushstrokes. The light, fresh rose fragrance adds extra elegance to the flower without diminishing its powerful appearance.
This rose blooms abundantly and repeatedly throughout the season and grows into a strong, healthy shrub with glossy dark green foliage. Toulouse Lautrec® stands out beautifully as a solitary plant but is also a strong performer in borders where contrast and color are desired.
Who was Toulouse-Lautrec?
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864–1901) was a French post-impressionist artist, famous for his posters, paintings, and drawings of Parisian nightlife. His work was known for intense use of color, boldness, and character — qualities that perfectly suit this rose. Like the artist, Toulouse Lautrec® is distinctive, quirky, and unforgettable.

Roses in a pot
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for roots to develop. This makes the potted rose ideal for year-round planting, especially May to October.
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants that are delivered without pots or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in the ground. The best time to plant a root rose is autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature is mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare root roses from November to AprilThanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and floriferous shrubs or climbing roses.
Products are shipped weekly on Mondays & Shipped directly from the nursery on Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimize our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
