Sparrow Nest Box – give house sparrows a place in your garden

The house sparrow is a real group bird that likes to live in colonies. With this special sparrow nest box, you give multiple sparrows a safe breeding place at the same time. A nice place for this useful bird and a step towards a natural balance in your garden. Our boxes are handmade in the social woodworking shop of GewoonDoen, with attention to sustainability and craftsmanship.

Why place a nest box for sparrows?
The house sparrow is under pressure in the Netherlands due to a lack of nesting opportunities. With a well-placed nest box, you help the species and bring life to your garden. House sparrows like to eat seeds, but mainly feed their young with insects – including aphids and caterpillars that can be harmful to roses and other plants. A group of sparrows in your garden therefore means fewer pests and more biodiversity.

About this sparrow nest box:

  • Suitable for a sparrow family (multiple entrance openings)
  • Made of sturdy, durable wood
  • Easy to hang against a facade or fence
  • Equipped with a cleaning hatch
  • Handmade in collaboration with GewoonDoen Woodwork Shop

A simple way to make your garden greener, livelier, and more environmentally friendly. Good for the birds and your roses.

Roses in Pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has been pre-grown in a pot and comes with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly into the garden or a larger container — no need to wait for new root growth. This makes potted roses ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May to October.

Bare Root Roses

Bare root roses are rose plants supplied without soil or pots. These roses are in their dormant stage and can be planted directly into the ground. The best time to plant bare root roses is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and temperatures are mild.

At Belle Epoque, we supply bare root roses from November to April. Thanks to their strong root systems and the right planting conditions, these roses quickly grow into healthy, vigorous shrubs or climbing roses with abundant blooms.

Products are shipped weekly on Mondays & Shipped directly from the nursery on Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimize our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
