The Rosa ‘The Poet’s Wife’ standard rose is a radiant jewel from the David Austin collection, which with its intensely yellow, fully double flowers immediately brings light and joy to your garden. This English rose enchants with a beautiful color spectrum: the deep yellow buds open into rich, rounded flowers whose outer petals subtly fade to softer shades. What truly makes it unique is the delightful, powerful lemon scent that is fresh and sweet, becoming more intense as the flower matures. A true treat for the senses, surrounded by glossy dark green leaves that perfectly accentuate the sunny flowers.
With an elegant stem height of 90 cm, ‘The Poet’s Wife’ creates a compact, bushy crown that effortlessly adds height and brightness to any outdoor space. It is a stunning eye-catcher in borders, as a solitary plant in a smaller garden, or as an atmospheric addition in a pot on your terrace or balcony. Its repeat-flowering nature, from May well into October, ensures months of an explosion of color and fragrance. Combine it with the purple hues of lavender, fresh white perennials, or soft pink roses for a harmonious and irresistible summer ensemble.

Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
