Princess Aiko™ – Exclusive Japanese rose, now available in Europe for the first time!

The Princess Aiko™, also known as Beloved, is a unique Japanese garden rose originally cultivated for the Empress of Japan. Belle Epoque is proud to offer this rare rose exclusively as a biennial in Europe.

The flowers open in a refined palette of bright peach with soft shades of cream and light pink. Thanks to its spherical flower structure with no fewer than 120 petals, Princess Aiko™ retains its elegant shape for up to 80% of its blooming time. The glossy, dark green foliage contrasts beautifully with the flowers and enhances its luxurious appearance.

Growing to a height of between 80 and 140 cm, this compact yet vigorous shrub rose is perfect for borders, as a standalone, or in stylish combinations with other Japanese roses. Because Princess Aiko™ is still new to Europe, 2025/2026 will be the first year in which enthusiasts can discover its dynamic growth in our climate.

Belle Epoque offers only 40 plants making this introduction a unique opportunity for collectors and garden enthusiasts who want something special.

Roses in a pot

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for roots to develop. This makes the potted rose ideal for year-round planting, especially May to October.

Bare root roses

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants that are delivered without pots or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in the ground. The best time to plant a root rose is autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature is mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare root roses from November to AprilThanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and floriferous shrubs or climbing roses.

Products are shipped weekly on Mondays & Shipped directly from the nursery on Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimize our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
