About Queen of Sweden (Austiger) (on stem)

The 'Queen of Sweden' standard rose from David Austin is a true queen of elegance and tranquility. This regal English rose opens from delicate apricot-pink buds into broad, shallow flowers in a refined soft pink shade. Each flower has about 41 petals and emits a subtle but distinctive myrrh scent that fills the garden with a gentle, sweet fragrance. With its upright, ascending growth and healthy, dark green leaves, 'Queen of Sweden' combines timeless class with modern strength, and the flowers maintain their graceful shape even after a rain shower.

With a stem height of 90 cm, the 'Queen of Sweden' adds height, softness, and refinement to any outdoor space. Its compact, neat crown makes it ideal for smaller gardens, borders, or as an elegant focal point in a large pot on a terrace or balcony. The pastel colors and subtle scent create a sense of calm and balance. Pair it with lavender, sage, or white perennials for a classic English garden look that radiates harmony.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery, a family business with over 40 years of experience in Aalsmeer, you are assured of top quality. Our 'Queen of Sweden' standard roses are sustainably grown with passion and craftsmanship. We personally select each plant for color, fragrance, and vitality, so you receive a strong, healthy rose that brings years of joy and beauty to your garden. Quality directly from the grower—that is the promise of Belle Époque.

Care & Plants
Plant the standard rose throughout the year, as long as the ground is not frozen. Dig a spacious planting hole, enrich the soil with compost, and ensure good drainage. Make sure the graft union is just above the ground and water generously after planting. Immediately place a sturdy stake to support the standard rose.
Prune the 'Queen of Sweden' standard rose in early spring, after the last frost. Remove dead, diseased, or crossing branches and cut back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds. This promotes bushy growth and a rich, repeated bloom throughout the season.
Water the standard rose regularly, especially during dry periods and when it is in a pot. Fertilize in early spring and after the first bloom with a special rose fertilizer. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
