Delivery

At Belle Epoque, we do everything we can to deliver your roses in optimal condition. Because we work with living plants, we carefully plan our shipments. This way, your roses get the best start in the garden.

Shipping Days

We pack orders on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so that the roses are delivered before the weekend and do not sit unnecessarily long at a parcel service.

The usual shipping schedule is:

  • Ordered on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday: shipping on Monday.
  • Ordered on Saturday or Sunday: shipping on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the season.
  • Ordered on Monday or Tuesday: shipping on Wednesday.

During periods of extreme heat, frost, or other exceptional weather conditions, we may deviate from this. We then consciously choose a later shipping time so that your roses arrive in the best possible condition.

Delivery of Living Plants

We ship our roses all year round. Because roses are living plants, they do not look the same every season. Depending on the time of year, they may be full of leaves, have buds, be blooming, or be dormant.

During the blooming season, we do our utmost to deliver as many roses as possible in bloom or with flower buds. Fortunately, this often succeeds, but not always. Sometimes a rose has just finished blooming, or we choose to prune a plant before shipping. We do this deliberately because it benefits the health of the plant and ensures the rose will grow stronger after planting.

For pre-orders, we always mention the expected delivery period.

Shipping Costs

Netherlands and Belgium

  • Potted roses: €9.95 shipping costs.
  • Bare root roses: €9.95 shipping costs.

Different rates apply for shipping to other European countries. These are automatically calculated during checkout.

We consciously do not offer free shipping. This way, we keep our prices fair and transparent. You only pay for the actual shipping costs and not through hidden costs in the price of our roses.

Our Packaging

Every order is carefully packed by Wouter and the Belle Epoque team.

We pack our roses in:

  • a protective plastic bag;
  • a sturdy bamboo stick for support;
  • a strong American folding box that optimally protects the plants during transport.

We do not send standard boxes with plants but carefully selected roses that we are proud of ourselves. Every order is packed with care so that your roses arrive in excellent condition.

Bare Root Roses and Potted Roses

Bare Root Roses

Bare root roses are available during the planting season, usually from November through January. They are easy to ship and establish themselves excellently after planting.

Potted Roses

Potted roses are available all year round and can be planted almost all year, as long as the ground is not frozen.

Delivery

We ship our orders with DPD or PostNL.

As soon as your order has been shipped, you will automatically receive a Track & Trace code by email so you can follow the shipment.

Not Home?

If you are not home at the time of delivery, you can adjust your delivery preferences yourself via the DPD or PostNL website or app, for example to a pickup point or another delivery day.

Unfortunately, we cannot change these preferences from the nursery.

Damage or Missing Shipment

Despite all the care we take in packing and shipping, something can unfortunately go wrong during transport. If your order arrives damaged or a package seems missing, please contact us as soon as possible.

In case of transport damage, we would like to receive some clear photos of the packaging and the roses. This allows us to assess the situation and, if necessary, contact the carrier.

Our approach is always to seek a fair and customer-oriented solution. We want every customer to receive a healthy, strong rose and do everything we can to resolve issues properly.

Our Quality Promise

At Belle Epoque, we sell living plants. Every rose develops in its own way and at its own pace. Some varieties grow exuberantly in the first year, while other roses need two to three years to fully bloom and grow. This is a normal part of the development of a healthy garden rose.

With the right care, our roses become stronger, fuller, and more richly blooming each season.

Our goal is not only to deliver a beautiful rose but especially to let you enjoy a healthy garden rose for many years. If you have questions about the condition, growth, or blooming of your rose after receipt, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to think along with you and gladly share our knowledge and experience so that your rose has every chance to grow into a beautiful eye-catcher in the garden.
