Bare Bare root Rose Plants: Step-by-Step Guide for the Open Ground

Bare root Preparation Start by placing the roots of your bare root roses in a bucket of cold water before you begin planting. This helps to hydrate the roots and prepare them for their new environment.
Step 1: Dig a Planting Hole Loosen the soil well with a spade and dig a sufficiently large hole. Make sure the hole is wide enough for the roots to lie freely without being folded in half. The depth should be such that the inoculation point (where the large side shoots begin) is approximately 5 cm below the ground. This prevents proliferation and protects the rose against frost.
Step 2: Add Garden Soil With your other hand, add 3 to 4 handfuls of garden soil or rose soil into the planting hole.
Step 3: Press the soil Press the soil firmly with your foot so that the soil closes nicely around the roots of the plant.
Step 4: Water Water the rose well so that the root becomes nice and moist. Repeat this especially in periods of drought, except when it is freezing.
