Care & Plants
Plant ‘Sunshine Babylon Eyes’ in a sunny spot with well-draining soil, preferably in the fall (October-November) or early spring (March-April) as bare root, or year-round from a pot. Dig a planting hole twice as wide and deep as the root ball, improve the soil with compost, and ensure the graft union is just below ground level. Water generously after planting.
Prune ‘Sunshine Babylon Eyes’ in early spring (March/April), once the worst frost has passed. Cut the shrub back to about 15-20 cm above the ground and remove all dead, diseased, or weak branches. Regularly pinch off spent flowers during the blooming season to encourage continuous flowering.
Water ‘Sunshine Babylon Eyes’ regularly during dry periods and when planted in pots, preferably in the morning at the base of the plant. For optimal blooming, fertilize the rose in early spring and again after the first bloom with special rose fertilizer. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
