Polstjärnan at a glance
Discover the natural charm of 'Polstjärnan', also known as 'The Polar Star' or 'White Star of Finland'. This enchanting climbing rose, bred by Wasastjerna in 1937, envelops your garden in a sea of bright white, semi-double flowers. Although they are unscented, the graceful blooms enthusiastically attract bees and butterflies in June and July, contributing to the biodiversity in your garden. A true eye-catcher with excellent health and winter hardiness.
'Polstjärnan' is an ideal rambler rose for covering pergolas, walls and fences, or for climbing elegantly through trees. Reaching a height of 200–300 cm, it forms a lush, flowering cascade that is perfect for parks or larger gardens. After flowering, this rose develops charming rose hips, providing extra decorative value in autumn and a feast for birds.
At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, we have cultivated roses with passion and craftsmanship for more than 40 years. Your 'Polstjärnan' rose is organically grown (SKAL-certified) and shipped directly from our nursery to you with the utmost care. This ensures you receive a healthy, strong plant ready to enrich your garden.
Forty years of nothing but roses
Belle Époque is a family business, not a wholesaler. From our greenhouses in Aalsmeer, we have been growing only roses for over four decades — and every plant we send out is personally selected by us. This way, you receive not a catalog rose, but a plant ready to grow.
