About Golden Celebration (Ausgold)

Be enchanted by the ‘Golden Celebration’ (Ausgold), a radiant creation by David Austin that perfectly captures the essence of English roses. This rose is a true eye-catcher with its lush, cup-shaped blooms, each richly filled with 55 to 75 golden yellow petals that stand out beautifully against the dark green, glossy foliage. But it is especially the sublime fragrance that makes the ‘Golden Celebration’ so beloved: a complex perfume of classic tea rose, enriched with fresh citrus notes and exotic hints of lychee and strawberry, enveloping your garden in an unforgettable atmosphere.

The ‘Golden Celebration’ is a powerful and versatile rose that can grow both as a large shrub rose (up to 150 cm) and a small climbing rose (up to 300 cm). It blooms abundantly and continuously from May well into October, allowing you to enjoy its splendor for months. This variety is ideal for borders, as a solitary focal point in the garden, in large pots on the terrace or balcony, and even as an elegant cut rose for indoors. Wherever you place it, the ‘Golden Celebration’ adds a warm, golden glow and an irresistible aroma to any setting.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, a family business with over 40 years of passion and craftsmanship, you buy the ‘Golden Celebration’ directly from the grower. We cultivate our roses with care and dedication, resulting in strong, healthy plants that guarantee years of garden enjoyment. Choose the superior quality and expertise of Belle Époque and bring a piece of English rose history into your home, straight from the heart of Dutch flower cultivation.

Care & Plants
Plant the Golden Celebration in the fall (October-April) as bare root, or year-round from a pot. Choose a sunny location with at least 6 hours of sun per day and well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Dig a spacious planting hole, ensure the graft union is just below ground level, and water generously after planting.
Prune the Golden Celebration in early spring (March/April), once the worst frost has passed. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and cut back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds above the ground for a compact shrub. If it is a climbing rose, prune the side shoots back to 2-3 buds on the main branches.
Water the Golden Celebration regularly, especially during dry periods and blooming. Fertilize in early spring and after the first bloom with a special rose fertilizer. A layer of organic mulch around the base helps retain moisture and nourish the soil.

Groetjes Wouter
