About Cafe (NEW 20025)

Imagine a rose that captures the warm, comforting glow of a perfect cup of coffee. The Rosa ‘Café’ is an enchanting floribunda that immediately draws attention in any garden with its unique, deep coffee-brown shade. Its semi-double flowers, growing in graceful clusters, emit a delightfully soft, floral fragrance that caresses the senses – a subtle elegance reminiscent of a refined perfume, not coffee. This rose also plays beautifully with light: intense in color during cooler times and gently glowing in sustained warmth.

With its compact size of about 70-80 cm, the ‘Café’ is a versatile addition to various garden styles. It excels in borders, where its warm hue creates a stunning contrast with greenery and other flower colors, but also feels right at home in mixed beds or as an atmospheric focal point in a pot on your terrace or balcony. Its sturdy stems also make it ideal as a cut rose; pick a few stems for a unique bouquet or floral arrangement that adds warmth and character to your interior. And as an extra bonus: bees and butterflies cannot resist its irresistible charm.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery, a family business with over 40 years of passion and craftsmanship in Aalsmeer, you are assured of top quality. Every Rosa ‘Café’ is grown with the utmost care and sustainable cultivation methods, directly from our nursery to your garden. We combine traditional knowledge with innovation to deliver roses that are not only beautiful but also strong, healthy, and long-blooming. Choose the expertise of Belle Époque and enjoy a rose lovingly nurtured.

Care & Plants
Preferably plant the Rosa ‘Café’ in the fall (October-November) or early spring (March-April) as bare root, or year-round as a potted plant. Choose a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day and ensure nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. Dig a spacious planting hole, optionally mix compost into the soil, and plant the rose deep enough so that the graft union (swelling) is just below the ground.
Prune the Rosa ‘Café’ in early spring, just before new growth begins. Remove dead, damaged, or weak branches and cut back the remaining branches to about 15-20 cm above the ground, just above an outward-facing bud. This encourages compact growth and abundant flowering.
Ensure consistently moist but well-draining soil, especially during dry periods and blooming. Apply specific rose fertilizer in spring and after the first blooming period to encourage flowering and keep the plant healthy. A mulch layer around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
