Brown Velvet® – A special rose with a velvety soft appearance
Brown Velvet® is one of the most striking cluster roses for lovers of unique colors. Its richly filled, quarter-filled flowers open in a fascinating mix of rust brown, copper, mahogany, and velvet red, a color play rarely seen in rose collections. Depending on the season and light, the flowers subtly change shade, giving the shrub a different appearance each time.
The flowers reach a diameter of about 10 cm and appear in elegant clusters from early summer to late autumn. They emit a light, pleasant fragrance and maintain their decorative value for a long time, both in the garden and in a vase.
Brown Velvet® grows into a compact, bushy shrub about 100 cm tall with healthy, dark green glossy leaves. Thanks to its compact size, it is perfect for borders, rose beds, large pots, and as an exclusive eye-catcher on terraces or patios. The warm brown tones combine beautifully with cream, apricot, soft pink, purple-flowering perennials, and ornamental grasses.
This special rose thrives best in a sunny location with fertile, well-draining soil. With proper care, Brown Velvet® will reward you for years with rich, continuous blooms and a color rarely found elsewhere in the rose world.

Forty years of nothing but roses
Belle Époque is a family business, not a wholesaler. From our greenhouses in Aalsmeer, we have been growing only roses for over four decades — and every plant we send out is personally selected by us. This way, you receive not a catalog rose, but a plant ready to grow.
