A Whiter Shade of Pale - a rose with musical history
Some names stay with you. Rosa ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ is named after the famous 1967 hit by Procol Harum. That nostalgic sound suits its soft pink flowers beautifully, opening to an almost white shade. A touch of musical history among the garden roses.
This hybrid tea rose was introduced in 2006 and combines a classic flower shape with repeat flowering well into autumn. The glossy, dark green foliage sets off the delicate flower color beautifully. It grows to approximately 90 cm tall and is suitable for both a border and a large pot.
Its fragrance deserves a mention of its own: fresh rose perfume with notes of lemon and orange. In 2007, it won the fragrance award in The Hague. Give it a sunny spot near the patio or garden path, where you can enjoy its perfume as you pass by. A special choice for anyone wanting to buy a fragrant rose with a story.
Forty years of nothing but roses
Belle Époque is a family business, not a wholesaler. From our greenhouses in Aalsmeer, we have been growing only roses for over four decades — and every plant we send out is personally selected by us. This way, you receive not a catalog rose, but a plant ready to grow.
"Beautiful climbing rose, bloomed abundantly in the very first year! Well packaged and exactly what I expected based on the description. Belle Époque truly delivers top quality."
"The rose is well packaged and looks beautiful. Fast delivery, and the personal advice via email was very valuable — I wasn’t sure where to plant it."
"Amazing quality & service. I ordered two New Dawns and they are developing beautifully in the garden. Fast shipping from Aalsmeer to Belgium — would absolutely order again."
