Rosa ‘The Lark Ascending’ is a special presence in the garden. This rose produces medium-sized, semi-double flowers that appear in generous clusters – sometimes up to 15 flowers per stem. The soft blend of apricot and golden yellow gives a warm, almost glowing appearance, as if the sun itself is shining in the border.
The open flower shape creates a natural, loose look that fits perfectly in informal plantings. Bees and insects are also drawn to it, making it extra lively.
The scent is subtle and refined, with fresh tea notes and a gentle hint of myrrh. Not overpowering, but just enough to enjoy up close.
What truly makes this rose special is its strong and healthy growth. It blooms abundantly from bottom to top and continues for a long time throughout the season. This makes it not only beautiful but also practical and reliable.
Location & care
This rose prefers a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of sun per day. Provide well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Prune in early spring and remove spent flowers to extend blooming.
Use in the garden
Perfect for borders, mixed plantings, or as a standalone shrub. Also suitable as a cut flower thanks to its airy form and elegant appearance.
Inspiration: the lark in music
The name of this rose refers to the famous musical piece The Lark Ascending. A beautiful, serene work that depicts the rising of the lark – light, free, and full of movement. Exactly the feeling this rose brings to your garden. Also read the blog

Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
