About Bijenweelde Rood

Let your garden shine with the enchanting Rosa 'Bijenweelde Rood', a true tribute to nature. This rose, with its vibrant red, single flowers and contrasting stamens, is not only a feast for the eyes but also an indispensable ally for our buzzing friends. The accessible nectar and rich, striking bloom effortlessly attract bees and other pollinators, while the subtle, light fragrance adds a touch of magic to your outdoor space. 'Bijenweelde Rood' embodies the perfect harmony between aesthetics and ecology, creating a lively, biodiverse oasis that is a pleasure to spend time in.

Thanks to its compact growth habit and glossy green leaves, 'Bijenweelde Rood' is exceptionally versatile. Whether you want to create a colorful flower bed, enrich a border, or brighten up flower boxes, this rose adapts effortlessly. It combines beautifully with flower mixes, shrubs, and perennials, creating dynamic and atmospheric compositions. Moreover, 'Bijenweelde Rood' is known for its robustness and excellent resistance to common rose diseases such as powdery mildew and black spot, making it a low-maintenance choice for any gardener.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery, a family business with over 40 years of passion and craftsmanship in Aalsmeer, we grow every 'Bijenweelde Rood' with the utmost care and dedication. We believe in sustainable cultivation methods that respect nature, so you receive a healthy, strong plant ready to enrich your garden immediately. From our fields directly to your door, including appropriate packaging and a little water for the journey, we guarantee the quality and vitality you expect from a Belle Époque rose. Choose 'Bijenweelde Rood' and experience the expertise of generations of rose growers in your own garden.

Care & Plants
Plant 'Bijenweelde Rood' preferably in the fall or early spring, or year-round if the plant is delivered in a pot. Choose a sunny location with well-draining, fertile soil and ensure sufficient spacing of about 40-50 cm. Dig a spacious planting hole, mix the excavated soil with rose fertilizer or compost, and place the rose so that the graft union is just below the soil before filling in and watering generously.
Prune 'Bijenweelde Rood' annually in early spring (March), as soon as the harshest frost has passed. Completely remove dead, damaged, or weak branches and cut back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds above the ground for healthy and abundant blooming. Repeat bloomers like this benefit from removing spent flowers to extend the flowering period.
Water 'Bijenweelde Rood' regularly during dry periods, especially in the first growing season after planting. Fertilize the rose in spring and again mid-summer with an organic rose fertilizer for abundant blooms. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
