What is diatomaceous earth?

Diatomaceous earth, also known as kieselguhr, is a fine mineral powder consisting of fossilized remains of microscopic algae (diatoms). It naturally contains silicon, calcium, and magnesium – essential building blocks that contribute to healthy soil and strong plants.

The benefits for roses

Natural aphid control
The microscopically sharp particles damage the protective coating of insects such as aphids and spider mites, causing them to dry out. Safe for bees and beneficial insects, provided it is not applied to flowers.

Improved soil structure
Provides better water retention and aeration, allowing roots to grow deeper and stronger.

Stronger rose plants
The silicon strengthens the plant's cell walls and increases resistance to diseases and pests.
