The Rosa ‘Plaisanterie’, a masterpiece by Francis Meilland from 1962, is an enchanting shrub rose that fills your garden with irresistible charm. Its lush flowers shine in a deep pink shade with a hint of soft purple, formed in the iconic, densely packed rosette shape for which Meilland is so well known. Let yourself be seduced by the strong, fruity fragrance that fills the air and transports every passerby to a fairy-tale atmosphere, a true ode to romance and elegance.

With an elegant height of 90–120 cm and a healthy, bushy growth, ‘Plaisanterie’ is perfectly suited for borders, flower beds, and as an atmospheric addition to mixed plantings. This repeat-flowering beauty treats you to continuous new blooms from June to October, keeping your outdoor space a dynamic and colorful spectacle for months. Perfect for those looking for a rose that surprises both visually and sensorially.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy your ‘Plaisanterie’ directly from the grower, backed by more than 40 years of expertise and passion. We cultivate our roses with care and attention to sustainability, ensuring you receive a strong, healthy plant that, with proper care, will bloom for years and enrich your garden with its timeless beauty.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
