Dive into the enchanting world of the climbing rose Veilchenblau, a historic beauty that has captured hearts worldwide since its introduction in 1909. This unique rambler, with its rare violet-purple hues, comes closer to the dream of a 'blue rose' than almost any other variety. The 4-5 cm large, semi-double flowers open with a golden-yellow center and appear in lush clusters of 10 to as many as 30 per stem. Together with the dark green foliage, they create a fairy-tale sight. The intense bloom in early summer is accompanied by a rich, fruity fragrance that transforms your garden into a sensory paradise.

With its vigorous growth of 5 to 10 meters, the Veilchenblau is the ideal choice to transform large areas. Let it embrace an old tree as a charming climber, adorn a facade, or cover a pergola or rose arch with flowers, even on a north-facing wall or in partial shade. This rose is known for its excellent disease resistance and robustness, making it a carefree and durable addition for any garden lover longing for romance and atmosphere.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, we cherish over 40 years of family experience and passion for roses. Our Veilchenblau is cultivated with craftsmanship and care, directly from our nursery to your garden. We guarantee a healthy, vital plant of the highest quality, ready to enrich your outdoor space with its timeless charm and unparalleled bloom.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
