The Japanese Rose Camellia at Belle Epoque

At Belle Epoque, we are pleased to announce a new addition to our range: the beautiful Japanese rose Camellia! Although we do not currently grow this elegant plant ourselves, we can bring it directly from the grower to you as a consumer, without intermediaries.

History of the Camellia

The Camellia, often known as the Japanese rose, has a rich history that dates back centuries in Asia. The plant was first cultivated in China and Japan, where it was cherished for its beautiful flowers and glossy leaves. In the 18th century, the Camellia was introduced to Europe and soon became a favorite in the gardens of nobility and enthusiasts of exotic plants.

Fun fact: when Belle Epoque started in 1978/1979, we cultivated not only our beloved roses but also Camellias. Although we are currently not growing our own Camellias, we hope to offer our own again in the future. For now, we are proud to collaborate with a trusted fellow grower who shares the same passion for quality and beauty.
