Felicite Parmentier at a glance
Félicité Parmentier is a refined garden rose with beautifully formed, richly filled flowers. The center is fresh pink, while the outer petals fade to soft cream. The many petals form romantic rosettes, accompanied by a strong, classic rose fragrance.
This historic rose comes from Belgian breeder Louis Parmentier and is dated to 1834 by David Austin. It belongs to the Alba roses, an old rose group cherished for its soft colors, fragrance, and gray-green foliage. Félicité Parmentier thus preserves a piece of Belgium's nineteenth-century rose heritage.
Its historical value becomes visible in the garden: the refined flower form and distinctive fragrance show what has attracted rose lovers for generations. A beautiful choice for anyone who wants to fill a garden with flowers that also tell a story.
The shrub grows compactly and upright, with dense gray-green foliage. It blooms once in June and July, but its flowering period is relatively long for a historic summer-flowering rose. Give it a place in a romantic border or fragrance garden. It also performs well in light partial shade, and a few flowers in a vase will bring its fragrance indoors.
Forty years of nothing but roses
Belle Époque is a family business, not a wholesaler. From our greenhouses in Aalsmeer, we have been growing only roses for over four decades — and every plant we send out is personally selected by us. This way, you receive not a catalog rose, but a plant ready to grow.
"Beautiful climbing rose, bloomed abundantly in the very first year! Well packaged and exactly what I expected based on the description. Belle Époque truly delivers top quality."
"The rose is well packaged and looks beautiful. Fast delivery, and the personal advice via email was very valuable — I wasn’t sure where to plant it."
"Amazing quality & service. I ordered two New Dawns and they are developing beautifully in the garden. Fast shipping from Aalsmeer to Belgium — would absolutely order again."
