About Boscobel (Auscousin) (on stem)

The Rosa ‘Boscobel’ on stem, a masterpiece by David Austin, brings the essence of English romance directly to your garden. This exclusive standard rose, with its stately height of 110 cm, unfolds from deep red buds into lush, fully double rosettes in enchanting salmon pink to deep rose shades. The color subtly changes with the seasons, and each bloom is accompanied by an irresistible, complex fragrance of myrrh, hawthorn, elderflower, pear, and almond – a true sensory experience.

With a stem height of 110 cm, the ‘Boscobel’ is the perfect eye-catcher for any garden or terrace. Place it solo for an impressive accent, or integrate it into borders and large pots for a touch of refinement. The bushy growth and rich flowering provide structure and color, and combined with lavender, sage, or ornamental grasses, you effortlessly create a timeless English garden scene.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery, you don’t just buy a rose; you invest in pure quality and craftsmanship. As a family business with over 40 years of experience, we grow these exclusive David Austin standard roses with passion and sustainability in Aalsmeer. Each ‘Boscobel’ is personally selected, ensuring you receive a strong, healthy plant that brings years of bloom and fragrance to your garden, directly from the grower.

Care & Plants
This standard rose, delivered in a pot, can be planted all year round as long as the ground is not frozen. Choose a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight per day and well-draining soil. Dig a spacious planting hole, improve the soil with compost, and plant the rose at the same depth as it was in the pot, then water it well.
Prune the ‘Boscobel’ standard rose annually in early spring, after the last frost. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and cut back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds. By regularly removing spent flowers, you encourage the formation of new flower buds.
Water the ‘Boscobel’ regularly during dry periods, especially in the first year after planting. Fertilize in early spring and again mid-summer with a special rose fertilizer for optimal blooming. A layer of mulch around the base helps keep the soil moist and suppresses weeds.
