About Emma Bridgewater (AusB44A16)

Meet the enchanting Rosa ‘Emma Bridgewater’®, a stunning new addition to the prestigious David Austin collection, straight from our nursery in Aalsmeer. This English rose is a true artist in your garden, thanks to its spectacular color transformation: it opens with a soft pink glow and a warm yellow heart, evolves into a vibrant coral pink, and finishes with a subtle lilac tint. A unique play of colors that catches every eye and makes it an unmistakable star in the world of roses. The medium-sized, richly filled flowers also emit a delicate, refined tea fragrance that caresses your senses.

With its compact and balanced growth of about 125 cm tall and wide, ‘Emma Bridgewater’® is surprisingly versatile. It feels just as at home in a smaller city garden as in a spacious border, and is a beautiful solitary in a large pot on your terrace. Whether you combine it with other English roses for a lush scene or give it the starring role, this repeat-flowering beauty guarantees months of ever-changing floral carpets from June to October, full of color, fragrance, and timeless elegance.

As a family business with over 40 years of passion for roses, Belle Époque Rose Nursery guarantees superior quality. When you order the ‘Emma Bridgewater’® from us, you receive a strong, healthy plant, lovingly and expertly grown in Aalsmeer. We ensure that this David Austin rose gets the best start in your garden, so you can enjoy its unparalleled beauty and the pride of a rose directly from the grower for years to come.

Care & Plants
Forced-grown roses can be planted all year round, as long as it does not freeze. Bare-root roses are preferably planted between October and April. Choose a sunny to partially shaded spot with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Dig a spacious planting hole, place the rose so that the graft union is just below the ground, and fill in with soil, then water generously. Maintain a planting distance of about 70-80 cm for optimal growth.
Prune the Rosa 'Emma Bridgewater'® in early spring (around March), when the worst frost has passed. Remove dead and weak wood and shorten the remaining branches to 1/3 of their length, just above an outward-facing bud. For continuous blooming, it is advisable to regularly remove spent flowers.
Water the rose regularly, especially during dry periods and when it is in a pot. Fertilize twice a year with special rose fertilizer: once in early spring and again after the first bloom. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
