Princess Maya® (Night Rain) – exclusive Japanese garden rose

The Princess Maya®, also known as Night Rain, is a special and rare rose from Japan that is now available for the first time as a garden rose in the Netherlands, exclusively at Belle Epoque.

Her soft peach-like petals open up to medium-sized flowers (4–8 cm) with a refined quarter rose pattern. The outer petals curl downwards into star-like points, while the inner petals elegantly arrange themselves in folds. Together with her delightful lavender scent (4/5), this forms a unique appearance in the garden.

Although Princess Maya® was originally cultivated as a garden rose in Japan, she was later further developed as a cut rose in Colombia and Kenya. Now she is back in her original form as a garden rose and introduced by Belle Epoque in the Netherlands. As this rose is still in full development in our climate, there are fewer than 20 specimens available this year - a true collector's item for the adventurous rose lover.

Roses in Pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has been pre-grown in a pot and comes with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly into the garden or a larger container — no need to wait for new root growth. This makes potted roses ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May to October.

Bare Root Roses

Bare root roses are rose plants supplied without soil or pots. These roses are in their dormant stage and can be planted directly into the ground. The best time to plant bare root roses is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and temperatures are mild.

At Belle Epoque, we supply bare root roses from November to April. Thanks to their strong root systems and the right planting conditions, these roses quickly grow into healthy, vigorous shrubs or climbing roses with abundant blooms.

Products are shipped weekly on Mondays & Shipped directly from the nursery on Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimize our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
