Dahlia Yellow Eyed Jill is a playful, richly blooming dahlia with a striking yellow center and a lively appearance. A real eye-catcher in the garden that pairs beautifully with roses and provides months of color.

This dahlia comes from our collaboration with Dobbe Flowers. At the nursery in Aerdenhout, Theo Dobbe – at 83 years old – still works daily alongside his son Patrick. From selection to cultivation, everything is done with care in open ground. You can see the result: strong, healthy tubers and abundant blooms.

When to plant?

Plant dahlia tubers from mid-April, but preferably after the last frost (usually early May). Want to start earlier? Then you can start them indoors or in a greenhouse.

What can you expect?

From one strong dahlia tuber, you get a powerful plant that keeps blooming all summer long. Expect 20 to over 50 flowers per plant — and the more you cut, the more flowers the plant will produce.

Why choose this dahlia?

  • Directly from the grower (Dobbe Flowers)
  • Strong tubers, grown in open ground
  • Rich and long-lasting bloom from June to October
  • Perfectly paired with roses

You are warmly welcome to visit our store to see the tubers for yourself — honestly, we had never seen them this beautiful before.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
