Madame Lilly Grace – the surprise of 2026

Meet ‘Madame Lilly Grace’, an exclusive shrub rose developed especially for Belle Epoque. This exceptional rose was created through a collaboration between Belle Epoque and breeder Dirk from Aalsmeer.

During the 2026 growing season, ‘Madame Lilly Grace’ quickly became one of our favorites in the greenhouse. Visitors were delighted by her exceptional flowers and wonderful fragrance. She may well become Wouter’s new favorite rose, too.

Dirk is not only the breeder of this rose, but also my mentor in the profession. He is now passing on to me the knowledge he learned from his grandfather and father. In this way, several generations of experience, craftsmanship, and love for roses come together in a new generation of Belle Epoque roses.

‘Madame Lilly Grace’ stands out with her beautifully formed flowers, elegant appearance, and refined interplay of colors. Each flower has an almost artistic shape and invites admiration up close. Her wonderful fragrance completes the experience.

For the garden and as a cut rose

This versatile shrub rose looks beautiful in a flower border, but can also be planted very successfully in a large pot. Choose a pot with a diameter of at least 50 cm to give the roots enough room to develop properly.

The flowers are also suitable for cutting. In a bouquet, ‘Madame Lilly Grace’ creates a romantic and exclusive look, while her fragrance can also be enjoyed throughout the home.

For the time being, ‘Madame Lilly Grace’ is being offered only in a small quantity. This makes her particularly appealing to rose collectors and garden enthusiasts looking for a new, exclusive rose with a personal story.

Belle Epoque’s own rose collection

The names ‘Mme’ and ‘Mlle’ are the distinctive hallmark of the roses from Belle Epoque’s own breeding program. This program is still small-scale, but its first exceptional creations are now a reality.

In November 2026, ‘Mme Lieve’, ‘Mlle Lola June’, ‘Mme Vivienne Grace’, and ‘Mme Élodie Grace’ will be introduced. Three more new creations will follow in 2027.

Step by step, this is how a collection of roses with character is taking shape. Roses in which the craftsmanship of several generations lives on and which are specially selected and developed for Belle Epoque.

As a family business with more than 40 years of experience in Aalsmeer, we choose roses that are not only beautiful, but also tell a meaningful story. ‘Madame Lilly Grace’ is a promising example of this – and perhaps Wouter’s new favorite.
