The Rosa Tsumugi™, exclusive to Belle Epoque, is a remarkable sight from the Japanese Wabara collection, developed by the renowned growers Keiji and Kenichi Kunieda. Available for the first time as a 2-year-old plant in Europe, this rose offers a unique opportunity for rose enthusiasts who wish to add something rare and refined to their garden.
The name Tsumugi means "graceful turning" and refers to the way the petals unfold. The large, bowl-shaped flowers are richly filled with about 120 petals and display a subtle color transition: an intense light pink heart that slowly fades to a soft, pale pink shade along the edges.
The delicate scent combines classic rose notes with a light hint of lavender, giving this rose an extra dimension to your garden experience. With an expected size of 80–120 cm tall and compact growth, Tsumugi™ is suitable for borders, as a solitary plant in the garden, or even in a generous pot.
Because Tsumugi™ is still new in Europe, its growth habit and color depth may vary depending on the climate. This makes it not only a pioneer rose but also a true collector’s item.
At Belle Epoque, we supply this rose directly from our nursery. Feel free to share your experiences and photos: together we will discover how this Japanese beauty develops in European gardens.

Roses in pots
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.
Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
