About Wandering Rosie

Discover the enchanting 'Rambling Rosie,' a true gem that combines the romance of a classic rambler with a surprisingly compact size. Its small, semi-double flowers in an intense scarlet red adorn the garden continuously from June well into October, often with a charming white center. The light, refined fragrance and its irresistible attraction to bees and butterflies make it a lively focal point, full of character and natural beauty.

With an elegant growth of about 3 meters, 'Rambling Rosie' is the perfect choice for gardeners who desire the lushness of a rambler but have limited space. It effortlessly transforms a pergola, fence, or obelisk into a sea of color and even feels at home in a spacious pot on the terrace. Its remarkable health and unprecedented flowering make it a low-maintenance eye-catcher that guarantees years of enjoyment.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, we cherish over 40 years of expertise and passion. Every 'Rambling Rosie' is grown with the utmost care and sustainable methods, ensuring you receive a strong, healthy plant ready to enrich your garden directly from our nursery. Trust our expertise and let your garden bloom with the unparalleled quality of Belle Époque roses.

Care & Plants
Plant 'Rambling Rosie' preferably in a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of sun per day for the richest bloom. Ensure well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Dig a spacious planting hole, mix the soil with compost, and plant the rose so that the graft union (the swelling between root and stem) is just below the ground. Maintain a planting distance of about 150-200 cm if planting multiple plants next to each other.
Prune 'Rambling Rosie' in early spring (February/March), as soon as the worst frost has passed. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing wood and cut back side shoots to two or three buds to maintain shape and encourage new blooms. After flowering, spent flowers can be removed to direct energy to new buds, although this is often less necessary with ramblers.
Give 'Rambling Rosie' enough water during dry periods, especially in the first year after planting. Fertilize the plant in early spring and after the first bloom with a special organic rose fertilizer to encourage abundant and long-lasting flowering. A layer of mulch around the base helps keep the soil moist and suppresses weeds.
