Your roses deserve the best tools – and that starts with proper maintenance. With this Premium Blade Cleaner, you ensure your pruning shears and pruning saw stay sharp and cut effortlessly through rose branches.

When pruning roses, sticky residues of plant sap often remain on the blade. Especially with strong, healthy roses, this can quickly build up. That residue makes your shears stiff and less sharp, so you no longer get a clean pruning wound. With this powerful formula, you remove resin and sap in just 15 seconds.

Regular cleaning is especially important for roses. You not only prevent wear on your tools but also the spread of diseases between plants. Clean blades ensure smooth, clean pruning wounds that heal faster – and you see that reflected in stronger growth and richer blooms.

I also use this blade cleaner myself in the nursery. Clean blades are not a luxury for me, but a basic requirement for healthy roses.

How to use the blade cleaner

  • Spray the product onto the metal blade or saw blade

  • Wipe clean with a soft cloth

  • Then apply a thin layer of oil for smooth and precise cutting

The handy 100 ml spray bottle is ideal to always keep with your pruning tools. Cleaning after pruning your roses takes hardly any time but makes a world of difference.

Why proper maintenance is so important for roses

Well-maintained tools:

  • cuts more easily through sturdy rose branches

  • provides a clean pruning wound

  • reduces the chance of infections

  • lasts significantly longer

By replacing parts instead of throwing away an entire shear, you also work more sustainably and cost-effectively.

Keep your pruning shears clean, work sharp, and give your roses the care they deserve.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
