This rose immediately catches the eye thanks to its unique color play: warm apricot and peach tones with a fresh, coral pink nuance. The flower shape is generous, softly folded, and very elegant — just as you would expect from a rose named after a world-famous artist.

An ideal rose for gardens where color, creativity, and modern romance are central.

  • Flower diameter: approx. 10–12 cm
  • Number of petals: 45+
  • Color: peach, apricot, coral, and soft pink shades
  • Fragrance: light to medium fruity-floral perfume
  • Height: approx. 80–100 cm
  • Width: 50–60 cm
  • Blooming: continuous blooming, from spring until the first frost
  • Health: strong resistance to powdery mildew and black spot

The shrub is compact, well-branched, and always displays its flowers in elegant clusters. A particularly decorative rose that looks beautiful in both modern and classic garden styles.

Perfect for:

  • colorful borders

David Hockney (born 1937) is one of the most influential and beloved contemporary artists in the world. He is known for his colorful paintings, vibrant landscapes, and iconic pool sketches. His style is cheerful, expressive, modern, and bold — a celebration of color and light.

Meilland honored him with this rose that perfectly reflects his signature:

  • Colorful: warm, vibrant shades that immediately stand out
  • Creative: a flower shape with playful layers and expressive presence
  • Optimistic: a rose that radiates the same energy as Hockney’s art

Roses in a pot

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for roots to develop. This makes the potted rose ideal for year-round planting, especially May to October.

Bare root roses

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants that are delivered without pots or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in the ground. The best time to plant a root rose is autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature is mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare root roses from November to AprilThanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and floriferous shrubs or climbing roses.

Products are shipped weekly on Mondays & Shipped directly from the nursery on Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimize our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
