Care & Plants
Plant the 'White Pierre de Ronsard' preferably in the fall (October-December) or early spring (March-April) for bare-root roses, or year-round as a potted plant (not during frost or extreme heat). Choose a sunny to partially shaded spot with well-draining, fertile soil and ensure sufficient planting distance (at least 1 meter) and a sturdy climbing support.
Prune this climbing rose in early spring (February/March), before new growth begins. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing wood and shorten side shoots to 2-3 buds to encourage flowering and keep the plant healthy. Train the main branches horizontally for a richer bloom along the entire length.
Water the 'White Pierre de Ronsard' regularly during dry periods, especially in the first growing season. Fertilize the rose in early spring and again after the first bloom with special rose fertilizer, and provide a layer of mulch at the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
