About Molineux (Ausmol)

Meet ‘Molineux’ (Ausmol), a David Austin rose that enriches the garden with unmistakable charm and vitality. Its radiant yellow, deeply filled flowers open elegantly, like little sunbeams that shine all summer long. This English rose enchants not only with its visual beauty but also with a delightful, powerful sweet fragrance that stimulates the senses and creates a romantic atmosphere. ‘Molineux’ is a symbol of health and continuous blooming, a true asset for every rose lover.

With a mature height of about 100-150 cm, ‘Molineux’ is a versatile shrub rose that thrives both as a solitary plant in the border and in a generous pot. Its abundant bloom from April to October makes it perfect for creating colorful flower beds, filling borders, or as a radiant centerpiece on your terrace. Moreover, it is very attractive to bees and butterflies, turning your garden into a lively oasis of nature.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy the ‘Molineux’ rose directly from the grower. With over 40 years of expertise and a passion for roses, we guarantee you a healthy, top-quality plant, sustainably grown. We are ready to provide you with tailored advice so you can fully enjoy this beautiful English rose and the richness it brings to your garden.

Care & Plants
Plant the ‘Molineux’ rose preferably in the fall (October-November) or early spring (March-April) as bare root, or year-round as a potted plant. Choose a sunny to partially shaded spot with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. Dig a spacious planting hole, ensure the graft union (swelling) is just below the soil surface, and water generously after planting. Maintain a planting distance of about 60-80 cm for optimal growth.
Prune the ‘Molineux’ in early spring (around March) by removing dead, diseased, or crossing branches and cutting back the remaining branches to 3-5 buds. This promotes compact growth and abundant flowering. During the blooming season, regularly remove spent flowers to encourage the formation of new buds and extend the flowering period.
Give the ‘Molineux’ regular water, especially during dry periods and in the first growing year; however, avoid keeping the roots wet for a long time. Fertilize the rose in early spring and after the first bloom with special rose fertilizer to promote abundant flowering and healthy growth. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
