About Malvern Hills (Auscanary) (XL Climbing Rose)

Be enchanted by the Rosa Malvern Hills®, a gem from the world-famous David Austin collection, now exclusively available at Belle Époque. This exceptional XL rambler rose breaks the tradition of many ramblers with its repeat-flowering character, continuously surprising from June well into October with its soft, sunny yellow flowers. The charming, small but well-filled roses appear in lush clusters and emit a delicate, fresh Noisette fragrance that soothes the senses and creates a serene atmosphere in any garden.

With its long, flexible branches, the Malvern Hills® is the perfect candidate to elegantly cover pergolas, arches, garden fences, or walls. It is easy to train and transforms any vertical structure into a breathtaking sea of soft yellow. Thanks to its robust growth and excellent disease resistance, it effortlessly combines the nostalgic charm of a classic rambler with the reliability of a modern rose. Moreover, the few thorns make it particularly low-maintenance, a big plus when pruning or training. It reaches an impressive height of 3 to 4 meters and, with its abundant blooms, also attracts bees and butterflies, contributing to a lively and biodiverse garden.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy the Rosa Malvern Hills® directly from the grower. With over 40 years of family experience and a deep passion for roses, we cultivate this David Austin beauty with the greatest craftsmanship and care. Our sustainable cultivation guarantees you a strong, healthy, and floriferous plant that will bring unforgettable floral splendor to your garden for years to come. Choose the superior quality and expertise of Belle Époque and let your garden shine with the timeless elegance of the Malvern Hills®.

Care & Plants
Plant potted roses all year round, as long as it does not freeze. Bare-root roses are preferably planted between October and April. Choose a sunny location with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil and dig a spacious planting hole; make sure the graft union is just below the soil surface. Water generously after planting.
Prune the Malvern Hills® lightly in late winter or early spring (February-March). Remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches and thin the shrub if necessary to improve air circulation. Shorten the side shoots to encourage blooming, but preserve the main structure of the rambler.
Water young plants and potted roses regularly during dry periods. Fertilize your Malvern Hills® in March/April and again after the first bloom in July with a special rose fertilizer. A layer of mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
