About Bathsheba (Ausschimbley)

Bathsheba' (Ausschimbley) David Austin Climbing Rose for Sale | English Climbing Rose

Looking for a David Austin climbing rose that captures the essence of English romance? The 'Bathsheba' is an enchanting climbing rose whose apricot-yellow buds unfold into beautiful, shallow-cupped rosettes in soft shades of apricot pink and warm yellow. The richly filled flowers emit a delightful myrrh fragrance, subtly complemented by notes of honey and tea. Inspired by the strong heroine Bathsheba Everdene, this English rose radiates the same irresistible charm and character.

Bathsheba®: Ideal for Pergolas, Rose Arches, and Walls

With its vigorous, bushy growth and healthy, dark green leaves, the 'Bathsheba' is an excellent choice for vertical planting. This climbing rose looks stunning against pergolas, rose arches, fences, and walls. Thanks to its repeat-flowering nature, you can enjoy an abundance of richly filled flowers from early summer well into autumn. It adds a timeless look to both classic and modern gardens.

Care & Plants
Preferably plant the 'Bathsheba' in the fall (October-November) or early spring (March-April) for bare-root roses; potted roses can be planted year-round. Choose a sunny spot with well-draining soil and ensure the graft union is about 5 cm below the ground. Water generously after planting.
Prune the 'Bathsheba' in early spring, after the last severe frost, by removing dead, diseased, or weak branches. Shorten the side shoots to 2-3 buds and encourage new growth by lightly pruning the main branches. Regularly remove faded flowers to promote continuous blooming.
Give the 'Bathsheba' regular water, especially during dry periods and after planting. Fertilize the rose twice a year with a special rose fertilizer, in early spring and after the first bloom, to encourage a rich flowering. A mulch layer around the base helps keep the soil moist and provides nutrients.
