About Bathsheba (Ausschimbley) (XL Climbing Rose)

Be enchanted by the Rosa Bathsheba® (Ausschimbley), a masterpiece from David Austin Roses that has been winning hearts since its introduction in 2016. This English climbing rose opens with elegant apricot-yellow buds that unfold into beautiful, shallowly cupped rosettes. Its petals display a symphony of soft apricot-pink, peach, and cream-yellow shades, enriching any garden with a warm, radiant glow. The Bathsheba® is not only a feast for the eyes but also for the nose: its intense myrrh fragrance, enriched with notes of honey and tea, fills every summer day with refined charm.

With its vigorous and healthy growth, the Bathsheba® is the ideal choice to enhance your garden architecture. It effortlessly reaches heights of up to 3 meters, making it perfect for covering pergolas, embracing rose arches, or transforming walls and fences. The lush, dark green foliage forms a stunning contrast with the warm, blooming flowers that appear from early summer well into autumn. Inspired by the strong heroine Bathsheba Everdene, this rose embodies a perfect balance of strength, elegance, and romance.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, a family business with over 40 years of expertise, you buy your Bathsheba® directly from the grower. We cultivate our roses with passion, craftsmanship, and love for nature, resulting in strong, healthy plants that will shine in your garden for years to come. Choose the superior quality and rich tradition of Belle Époque and let your garden bask in the unparalleled beauty and fragrance of this exceptional David Austin climbing rose.

Care & Plants
Preferably plant the Rosa Bathsheba® in spring or autumn, in a sunny to partially shaded spot. Ensure well-draining, nutrient-rich soil and dig a spacious planting hole. Place the graft union just below ground level and water generously after planting.
Prune the Bathsheba® in early spring, around March, to promote growth and flowering. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and shorten the side shoots. By regularly removing spent flowers, you encourage the formation of new buds for a longer blooming period.
Water the Bathsheba® regularly, especially during dry periods and flowering. Fertilize in spring and after the first bloom with a special rose fertilizer to encourage flowering and keep the plant healthy. A layer of mulch helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
