About Lady of Shalott (Ausnyson)

Be enchanted by the 'Lady of Shalott', a David Austin rose that effortlessly combines the timeless romance of English gardens with unparalleled vitality. Its orange buds unfold into lush, semi-double flowers, a spectacle of salmon pink, gold, and apricot that brings your garden to life. Each flower, rich with about 60 petals, radiates depth and warmth, wrapped in a subtle, spicy fragrance with surprising notes of clove and apple. This is the rose that speaks to the soul, a living work of art in your outdoor space.

With its graceful, slightly curved stems and a height of up to 3 meters, the 'Lady of Shalott' shows impressive versatility. It excels as a lush shrub rose in borders and beds, creates a charming hedge, or climbs elegantly on a pergola or obelisk as a small climbing rose. Even in a spacious pot on your terrace, its beauty fully shines. Its robust health and rich, repeat-flowering character make it an indispensable asset for both the classic cottage garden and the modern outdoor space. And don’t forget: its beautiful flowers are also perfect as cut roses for an enchanting indoor bouquet.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery, a family business with over 40 years of experience in the heart of Aalsmeer, you buy the 'Lady of Shalott' directly from the grower. Our passion for roses and deep expertise guarantee you a top-quality rose, grown with love and sustainability. We select only the healthiest plants so you can enjoy this enchanting David Austin rose in your garden for years to come. Choose the proven quality and service of Belle Époque and let your garden shine.

Care & Plants
Plant the 'Lady of Shalott' in spring or autumn (bare root) or year-round (in pot) in a sunny spot with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Dig a spacious planting hole, enrich the soil with compost, and ensure good drainage. Place the graft union just below ground level and water generously after planting.
Prune the 'Lady of Shalott' annually in early spring, after the last frost, to maintain its shape and encourage blooming. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and shorten the remaining shoots by about one third. During the blooming season, regularly removing spent flowers promotes continuous and abundant flowering.
Provide a nutritious, well-draining soil and water extra during dry periods. Fertilize your 'Lady of Shalott' in early spring and again in summer with a special rose fertilizer for optimal growth and blooming. A mulch layer helps keep the soil moist and suppresses weeds.

Lady of shallot

I was on holiday in England and saw this beautiful lady of shallot in someone else's garden. I took a photo of it and ordered it here online.

The rose is as what I expected and the delivery was good.
