Imagine your garden enriched with the enchanting 'Gentle Hermione' rose. This David Austin variety, named after a character from Shakespeare, features majestic, fully double rosette flowers that can grow up to 10 cm wide. Their pure pink shade, subtly edged with a softer blush, exudes timeless elegance. With about 90 delicate petals per flower and a distinctive, strong classic rose fragrance, each bloom is an ode to romance. Moreover, the flowers are exceptionally weather-resistant, keeping their beauty intact even after rain.

The 'Gentle Hermione' is a versatile addition to any outdoor space. Thanks to its bushy, rounded growth habit, it thrives beautifully as a large shrub rose in borders, completing a cottage garden or romantic rose bed. Its potential as a small climbing rose (up to 3 meters) also makes it ideal for beautifying walls, pergolas, or obelisks. The long stems and sublime scent also make it an excellent cut rose, perfect for filling your home with its delightful fragrance.

At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, you buy the 'Gentle Hermione' rose directly from the grower. With over 40 years of experience, we cultivate these English roses with unmatched passion and craftsmanship. Our family business guarantees sustainably grown, high-quality roses perfectly adapted to the Dutch climate, so you can enjoy this breathtaking beauty for years to come.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
