About Rugosa Rubra

Rosa Rugosa Rubra is a robust botanical rose that immediately captures attention with its deep purplish-pink, single flowers and striking yellow centers. This strong shrub rose, known for its wrinkled foliage and wonderful, intense fragrance, blooms continuously from May to September. Care & Plants
Plant de Rosa Rugosa Rubra bij voorkeur in het najaar (oktober-april) als kale wortel of het hele jaar door als potplant, mits de grond niet bevroren is. Kies een zonnige tot licht beschaduwde plek met goed doorlatende grond. Graaf een ruim plantgat, zorg voor voldoende afstand bij aanplant in een haag (ca. 60-80 cm) en druk de grond stevig aan na het planten.
Deze roos is onderhoudsarm en heeft weinig snoei nodig. Snoei in het vroege voorjaar (februari-maart) om dode, beschadigde of kruisende takken te verwijderen en de struik in vorm te houden. Verjongingssnoei kan om de paar jaar worden toegepast door enkele oude takken tot de basis terug te snoeien.
Geef de Rosa Rugosa Rubra tijdens droge periodes regelmatig water, vooral in het eerste groeiseizoen. Voor een optimale bloei en bottelvorming bemest u in het voorjaar met organische rozenmest en eventueel nogmaals na de eerste bloei. Een mulchlaag rond de basis helpt vocht vast te houden en onkruid te onderdrukken.
