About Japanese Rose BI – Song of Hiroshima (Song of Hiroshima) (NEW 2026)

Japanese Rose BI – Song of Hiroshima is a rose with emotional depth and gentle strength. Its lilac-pink flowers bloom in clusters and give the shrub a light, almost floating appearance. This is a rose that is not only beautiful but also tells a story.

Song of Hiroshima fits perfectly within the Japanese idea that flowers are not only seen but also felt.

The meaning of the name

Song of Hiroshima means Song of Hiroshima. The name poetically refers to remembrance, vulnerability, and hope. In Japan, beauty is often linked to transience and recovery – these layers come together in this rose.

It is a name that sounds soft but carries a deep meaning.

Japanese origin & breeding

This rose was bred by Kazuzo Tagashira in Japan, before 2011.
Song of Hiroshima belongs to the group of Hybrid Moschata / shrub roses, known for their natural growth habit, cluster flowering, and garden value.

The exact lineage is unknown, which gives this rose a certain mystique that suits its name well.

Flower & scent

  • Flower color: lilac-pink

  • Flower form: semi-double (9–16 petals), in clusters

  • Scent: light and gentle

  • Blooming: in waves throughout the season

The cluster flowering creates a rich appearance without making the shrub look heavy. The flowers move with light and wind, giving it an almost musical expression.

Growth & use in the garden

Japanese Rose BI – Song of Hiroshima grows into an elegant shrub with a natural shape.

  • Height: approx. 100–120 cm

  • Type: Hybrid Moschata / shrub rose

  • Use: borders, natural gardens, combination with perennials

Because of its soft color and loose flowering habit, this rose is especially suitable for gardens with a natural or romantic atmosphere.

Japanese Rose BI – beauty with meaning

This rose is part of the Japanese Rose BI selection of Belle Epoque.
BI (美) stands for beauty that goes beyond appearance alone – beauty with emotion, memory, and calm.

Song of Hiroshima is a beautiful example of this.
