Which type of rose best suits your garden?
Roses in pot
A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been pre-grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting all year round, especially from May through October.
Roses with bare roots
Root roses – also called bare root roses – are rose plants delivered without pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in the ground. The best planting time for a root rose is autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.
At Belle Epoque we supply bare root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and flowering shrubs or climbing roses.
Standard roses
A standard rose is a striking feature in any garden. By grafting onto a straight stem, this rose takes on an elegant, tree-like shape. Ideal as an eye-catcher in a border or as a solitary plant in a pot on the terrace. Thanks to the height, the bloom stands nicely above low planting.
These standard roses are available in pots or as bare root, depending on the season. Bare root roses are available during the dormant period (from October), while the potted variety can be planted all year round.
